Chamchaa Market

About

Chamcha Market is a weekend craft market in San Kamphaeng, the district east of the city known for its traditional handicrafts, and it's named after the big rain trees (chamcha) it sets up under. More than 50 stalls are run mostly by the makers themselves, selling handmade crafts, clothes and homewares, along with local sweets, snacks and cafés; one food spot is built into an old retired bus. It's smaller and calmer than the city markets, and a good place to buy gifts from the people who made them. Combine it with the San Kamphaeng craft villages for a half day.
