Piromtarn Park

Piromtarn Park is a public park in Sop Tui, Lampang, so it's a road trip from Chiang Mai rather than a local spot, and the draw is the skatepark, which is mainly for surf skate. Around it there are basketball and football areas and other places to play, and the park is reported to have round-the-clock security. If you're driving through Lampang with a board in the car, it's a worthwhile stop to stretch your legs and get a session in. Facilities aren't well documented online, so check recent photos first.
