This is the canal-road branch of Trailer Coffee, a small local chain, in a little wooden house just past the PTT station on the Chonprathan (canal) road. It's an everyday spot: strong coffee in medium or dark roast for under 100 baht. They also serve Lao-style khao jee, a small crusty baguette you dip in condensed milk. The unexpected part is a big bowl of Chiang Rai-style khanom jeen nam ngiao. The view across to Doi Suthep is a bonus. I'd stop here for breakfast on the way out of town.
