Phachor (Mae Wang National Park)
Doi Inthanon & Mae Wang · Doi Inthanon / Mae Wang / Chom Thong
About
Pha Chor is the eroded canyon in Mae Wang National Park, south-west of the city, that gets called Chiang Mai's little Grand Canyon. The comparison oversells it on size but not on looks: tall, eroded earth pillars and sheer cliff walls that make a striking backdrop. The walk from the car park is only about 400 m, with steps and uneven ground, so it's an easy add-on to a Mae Wang or Doi Inthanon day rather than a trip of its own. Allow an hour or two in total.
