About
Sri Lanna National Park, about 55–60 km north of the city, is where Chiang Mai goes to sit on the water. Its centrepiece is the reservoir behind the Mae Ngat Somboon Chon Dam, lined with floating raft houses that are moored in place and reached by boat. They range from simple bamboo rafts to newer air-conditioned floating resorts, and you can stay overnight or just come for the day to swim, kayak, paddleboard, fish and eat. It's a group-and-family kind of place. Ask exactly what's included before you book a raft.
